Jeremy Goodman, MD 

Jeremy Goodman, MD, MBA, FACS is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at UAB Hospital. He is also an attending physician at the VA Medical Center, Birmingham, AL, the Surgical Director of its Living Kidney Donor Program, and a consultant for peritoneal dialysis at Merit Medical, Inc. Dr. Goodman received his MD from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, followed by residency in general surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine and a fellowship in transplant surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He later received his MBA from Auburn University. Dr. Goodman is board certified in surgery, and his research interests are focused on transplantation of immunologically high-risk kidney transplant recipients and surgical access for peritoneal dialysis. He maintains a large surgical practice in peritoneal dialysis and UAB is a referral center for complex peritoneal dialysis surgical needs. He has lectured at local and regional meetings on the surgical aspects of peritoneal dialysis.
